Knocked this one out quick. Fun super-scaler, I was never an arcade kid so there's still an 8-10 year old me who's blown away by how smooth and cool looking late '80s arcade super scalers look.

One of the earliest (?) cover systems I remember seeing. Very clunk and blocky to play, I remember feeling the same way when trying it the first time around. Once you get into a rhythm and use save states, it can be fun when playing it as a pseudo puzzle game.

This was like playing Mario 64 on 3D All-Stars last year, just slapped the nostalgia goggles right off my face. It's still okay but the track balance isn't great, snaking/rubber-banding CPUs are annoying as shit and some of the tracks on the higher CCs just throw bullshit at you. I missed the tracks being designed around powerslide boosting the same way newer Mario Karts are

The last boss on Hard Mode while trying to get the best ending has the difficulty if that's what you're looking for

I've played two, maybe three, but Wario Land games are historically underrated imo.

Pretty easy, though I did die a few more times than I expected to (a few OHKO enemies, especially a fish in the water level). I like the scavenger hunt aspect of this game and how unlocking levels is based on it, I probably beat the game about 7 or 8 times unlocking them all. Like a solid 6/10 chill platformer.

On the second last, I used them to respawn with my leveled up Lena already at the beginning (they crank the bullshit up, so no point in going in less than leveled up), and in the last level I used it to respawn after the first boss (easy to beat without getting hit/no point in doing it over and over) and then eventually on the last boss in general, who's bullshit personified and you're mostly not going to beat it without everything going your way. It was an okay game otherwise, nothing special as an action platformer and most of the annoying bits leading into the last two levels just require using the right special moves or learning the pattern.

NSO library sure isn't impressive outside of the obvious choices.

    40) :snes: Spanky's Quest Okay little Lolo style platformer/puzzle game but I hated it by the last world and save-stated through it because it was starting to rely on cheapness.

I beat the Puzzle Mode and then Medium Story mode with every character to get some playtime out of it.

(100%) 35) Hey Pikmin! 36) Kirby Triple Deluxe (100%) 37) Metroid Dread (100%) 38) :snes: Joe & Mac (Easy) Congo's Caper was my first SNES game so this was a little nostalgic. I hate the hit detection but it's a short and sweet game. Never let go of the stone wheel.

(100%) 35) Hey Pikmin! 36) Kirby Triple Deluxe (100%) 37) Metroid Dread (12:25:00ish official time, 100% Items) Actual time's longer because of how the game clock works but it's still too early for my Switch profile to show it. This is a 9/10 game that sinks into 8/10 status every once in awhile. - Metroid formula still addictive. I had to use guides to find the last 5-10% of items, some of those are ridic - I love the slide. Samus is fast as fuck and you can really get into a movement rhythm especially once you get new upgrades. - The EMMI stuff is a flop. The idea was decent enough, but once EMMI catches you, the counter is so difficult to hit properly that you're pretty much dead no matter what. It stops being scary and instead becomes a hindrance as you just wait for EMMI's spawn point to not be in your way. - Some of the bosses and mini-bosses hit really hard, some of them a bit too hard. Apparently there's secret ways to beat them but I don't think I ever found one, just destroyed my wrist and thumb while fighting them over and over again. - The story stuff was pretty good, especially since I had played the other games recently. Story and Ending Spoilers

Kirby's Mass Attack with a very fitting Pikmin coat of paint. Also a little Yoshi's Island and sounded a little Donkey Kong Country. I prefer Pikmin this way as a puzzle platformer than as a strategy game, it removes the thinking element and is a chill play. Probably my favourite part is how they collect enlarged everyday objects and Olimar tries to guess what they are (like an Ink Pen is a "Peace Missile" and a Pawn chess piece is an "Unassuming Lighthouse") and they're amusing little write-ups. I hope more Pikmin games are made like this

It was easier to 100% than Zero Mission but more of a hassle to get around in the end-game Except for Other M and Pinball, I think I've played all of them now

    31) Metroid Zero Mission (6:03:09, 100%) 32) Metroid Fusion (05:12:00, 61%) 33) Metroid: Samus Returns (14:35:14, 100%, Normal Mode) 100%ed Zero Mission, with assistance from a guide. I used save states on a few of set-ups for the these (like one where you have to light off a bomb and then screw attack multiple times while the bomb wall detonates itself) but I did manage to do them all eventually. Half the problem was just figuring out the proper controls, once I figured out that you just need to press forward on slopes to even yourself out and can press down to recharge it even while running flat, I managed to figure it out. Even managed to beat the last boss only losing two full health tanks eventually. This is also the first time I've gotten an ending in a Metroid with Samus taking off any pieces of her armour

    31) Metroid Zero Mission (6:03:09, 71%) 32) Metroid Fusion (05:12:00, 61%) 33) Metroid: Samus Returns (14:35:14, 100%, Normal Mode) Effing great game. This is exactly what I want a Metroid game to be. Searching for collectables and backtracking was rewarding, and I loved the scanning feature meaning not having to parse through a faq at the end to see which collectables I missed. I liked the melee counter mechanic, was surprised how easy it was to die in this game, and still didn't like the boss fight battles as much, though at least the checkpoints made it easy to get back at it and recognize patterns quicker.

    31) Metroid Zero Mission (6:03:09, 71%) 32) Metroid Fusion (05:12:00, 61%) God damn, it felt like I collected 80% of the items, how THE SHIT did it just end up being 61%? I can understand why Metroid fans are a bit split on this one because it's so linear, but I really liked it. I'm a fan of exact mission directives and then side-exploration available (I think they could've allowed a bit more side-exploration). I was mostly having fun with the game up until a few bosses later on (the spider boss, the vine boss, and I think there was one other that really annoyed me). I'd gotten more used to the controls since playing Zero Mission, but some of the combinations were hurting my hands (the end boss with Charge Plasma was definitely activated some arthritis).
